Recipe: Sausage Gravy

Sausage Gravy is super easy to make and for me this is all about comfort food.  My mom has been making it every since we were itty bitty and it has always been a favorite.  Great for breakfast, but truth be told it always ends up as dinner for us when I do make it.  It’s super simple to adjust the amount you make, but I always make a lot because it rocks for leftovers as well.

  • 1lb ground sausage (I always prefer sage sausage)
  • Flour ( a few tablespoons)
  • Milk (depends on how thick you like your gravy, I never measure)
    • Cook up your sausage, don’t drain.
    • Sprinkle on a few tablespoons of flour and mix with sausage & fat to create a sausage laden paste.
    • Slowly start adding milk, stirring as you go. Keep adding milk and stirring until you being to get the consistency you want.
    • Bring to boil and take off heat.
    • Serve over biscuits.
